These dreamy sunset engagement photos were so much fun to create for this young couple. Sara and Alexi had their hearts set on a sunset session, which was music to my ears. We met up at his parents’ house that sits up on a hillside, overlooking the expansive valley below.

Epic views of the mountains stretch across the entire western side of their property. There definitely was no lack of options for beautiful backdrops. The most perfect glow filtered through the trees, which made for such a gorgeous engagement session. That glowy, golden hour light is what photographer dream about.

Being up so high on a hill, it actually took the sun a bit longer to set to the point where it was throwing color, so our session got extended just a tad. Sara and Alexi were so relaxed and easy to work with. And even though the perfect sunset happened later than expected, it was SO worth the wait!

I had the pleasure of also photographing Sara and Alexi’s wedding a month later at Boulder Creek Resort in Bonners Ferry. It was the most perfect summer afternoon. They couldn’t have asked for a better day. I can’t wait to share their big day with you. These two are such a sweet couple, and I’m so excited for them to start their lives together.
