The Nord family booked their Sandpoint family vacation to celebrate their dad’s 70th birthday. I’ve never experienced a family session quite like this one. It was some of the most fun I’ve ever had.

When the Nord family arrived at their session, Annica (who had organized the family photos) had prepared a charcuterie board and champagne for the family to enjoy and loosen up their spirits a little bit. It was such a brilliant idea! There are many people who really don’t enjoy being in front of the camera (I being one of them). It was the perfect ice-breaker and simple way to get everyone relaxed and enjoying the moment.

It was an idyllic Sandpoint summer evening in the beautiful, rural Selle Valley. We met at my favorite location. Fun fact, we used to own and live at this particular property. It was the dream setup for me. I’ve always dreamed of having a property that my clients would want to come to for their sessions. So it was such a blessing to be able to experience that for a season of life here in Sandpoint, Idaho. But even now, we’ve kept a good relationship with the folks who purchased that property from us, and they graciously allow me to continue using the farm property as a location for my family photography sessions. How amazing is that?!

My favorite Sandpoint photoshoot location provides so many different backdrop options. From mature cherry trees and a 100-yr old barn to tall hay fields, wooden fencing, and plenty of Idaho’s iconic evergreen trees. There’s no lack of diversity for photography on the property.
