A Rainy Day Family Reunion | Romney Family – Priest River, Idaho
This rainy day family portrait session almost didn’t happen. Priest River is over an hour drive for me. I even checked the weather forecast before I left the house, and it said all was well. About an hour out, I hit rain. And not just a light sprinkle. It was a full on downpour. As per usually in North Idaho, there was little to no cell service for most of my drive. I had to wait until I was practically 5 minutes away to pull over and call the family to verify that things were still a go on their part.
Thankfully, the family was still onboard! I got to the house and scoped out an outdoor location on the back deck that was fully covered from the rain. Thank goodness for a giant overhang on this gorgeous waterfront vacation home in Priest River! It literally saved the day. We managed to get a lot of group photos of the family done while we waited for the rain to subside.
About a half hour into the session, the rain finally stopped and we were able to venture out onto the property a little more where we found a wide open clearing well suited for this nearly 30-person family reunion. Just look at all those grandkids!
All in all, we managed to get a lot of really great photos for this family despite the less than ideal weather. So thankful for clients who trust my judgement and go with the flow! It was so wonderful getting to meet you, Romney family!
